Our Kind of Traitor, by John le Carré
CHARACTERS
Who do the descriptions belong to? Is there a hero in the novel?
"... the creaseless face of a fifty-something man with soulful brown eyes beaming a dolphin smile at him..."
"lank and at first sight dislocated, wiht a long neck and prominent Adam's apple. His stride was ungainly ... and his ears protruded."
"was courtly, clean-shaven, mid-forties ... upright posture, sharp grey suit and little horns of greying hair..."
"With his classic brad brow and flowing white hair tossed back in two untidy waves, he resembled ... a Head of College of the old, dotty sort. He was in his mid-fifties."
"No group has claimed responsibility" Who do you think was responsible for the explosion at the end of the novel? The Prince, the Swiss or the English?
Many readers online have criticised the ending as incomplete. Do you agree? What would you include in the epilogue?
Is it believable that Perry and Gail would be recruited by Hector Meredith?
The climax is the Paris meeting. Or is it an anti-climax?
